[哈拉英語] “Hey, why don’t you take the weight off your feet?”

當有人和你這麼說時，意思是勸你坐下來休息一下。

和體重有關的片語還有carry one’s own weight

自己的體重自己扛，意思就是be responsible to yourself

*Everyone should learn to carry his own weight. 每個人都應該為自己負責。

及throw one’s weight around 把體重到處丟到別人身上，意思是仗勢欺人。(=bully 霸凌)

*Stop throwing your weight around. That isn’t cool at all.

別再到處仗勢欺人了。這太過分了。(cool口語等於okay，不是酷的意思)
